The international scientific conference Human Rights at Risk: Organized Crime at Sea and Across Borders will bring together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and other experts to examine the links between organised crime and human rights violations in maritime and cross-border contexts. Held in hybrid format in Bucharest and online, the conference will explore issues including trafficking, cyber-enabled criminal networks, democratic resilience, enforcement practices, and the role of emerging technologies. The event will also provide space for research presentations, interdisciplinary exchange, and policy-relevant discussion on how law and governance can respond to evolving transnational criminal challenges.
